Mistletoe Homestay & Cafe Munnar

Mistletoe Munnar is a boutique, premium home stay having five well furnished rooms with private balcony; overlooking the magnificent Chokkanmudi peaks, Lakchmi hills and Kanan Devan plantations of Munnar. This home stay features a traditional clay oven bakery, a cute café, small library and plenty of warmth and care from a typical Kerala Syrian Christian family. Perhaps the only home stay in Munnar where the host’s family resides in the house. The rooms are spacious, well appointed with modern shower rooms and private balcony and entry. We do not offer luxury, only the nature around is luxury. Our Guests could expect a peaceful, homely atmosphere that is clean, hygienic and safe for families, couples, women travelers, solo travelers where the hosts’ family lives in the premises. Mistletoe is also a cozy place for small groups of friends, who look for a quite-undisturbed place for a chill out. Mistletoe is not recommended for late night parties and noisy socializing. Food as a major ingredient during holidays; we could offer neat home cooked food, BBQ, customized to your taste with prior discussions. One cannot expect a typical hotel menu to order especially for major meals. Baking and cooking as an activity is encouraged with prior intimation and with an affordable price. Kochi International Airport is 70 km away.

Johnson belongs to the third generation of the migrants who have moved from the Central Kerala district of Kottayam( Erstwhile Travancore kingdom) in the early 1930s. Jo is a graduate in Psychology from Adamoson University, Manila, Philippines and also a Certified Hotel Administrator by American Hotel & Motel Association and has more than 16 years of hospitality exposure with reputed brands like Club Mahindra, Habitat Hospitality, in operations, sales & marketing, administration, HR. In the home stay venture, Ms. Jeena Elizabeth, Jo’s wife is rather your host. Jeena is a post graduate in Mathematics and hails from the city of Kochi. Mr. Joseph Oommen, the head of house is a skilled baker of the traditional baking era whose expertise in baking and cooking will be the prime flavoring agent during the experience at Mistletoe. Mrs. Annamma, Joseph’s wife is from a conservative Syrian Christian family of Kottayam, it is only an added blessing that Annamma has excellent cooking skills especially in Syrian Christian delicacies. And their jovial grandsons Nirmal & Thejas, aged six and three would certainly add some rhythm and life to the entire ambiance at Mistletoe Munnar.
