Valparai is a hill station in the Coimbatore district of Tamil Nadu, India with an altitude of 3500 feet above the sea level. It stands majestically with Green Spread Mountains and forest all around. The unique grass forests, Grass Hills, is also located near Valparai. The hill sports tall grass and houses elephants, boars, cheetah and other wild animals. In addition, one can drive around the mountain tea estates enjoying the pleasant climate and forget the once dense forest that have paved the way for tea bushes. around 65 km drive from Pollachi to Valparai is itself an exotic experience. Valparai its one of the best tourist spot in western ghats, boarder between kerala and Tamil Nadu. Its best ride option If you are love to ride 40 hairpin on the way up to Valparai from Azhiyar. The drive to the town from Pollachi passes through the Indira Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary noted for elephants, boars, lion-tailed macaques, gaur, spotted deer, sambar, and giant squirrels etc..

Explore; Wildlife & Nature Photography Trekking Visit to Tea Estates some of the Important tourist spot listed below 1.Monkey Falls- This place is located close to the Azhiyar Park and the Siddashram. It is also known as Chinna Kutralam. A fascinating trek route at the Monkey Falls, a linear stretch of evergreen forests surrounded through rocky cliffs, is available and regular guided treks are conducted during the favorable season. You should give prior request to the Tamil Nadu Forest Department headquarters at Pollachi before a fortnight. 2.Nallamudi poonjolai -It is located in Nallamudi Tea Estate near the Sangiliroad. To reach this view point you must walk 1 km inside the tea estate. You may see Pugmarks, fresh Elephant Dung, & Droppings of Leopards and Bears that visit here regularly at nights, from here you will get an excellent view of Anamudi – The highest peek of south India. 3.Aliyar Dam -Aliyar Dam is located in Pollachi town in Coimbatore District. 4.Loams view point (Hair pin)- Loam’s View Point is situated between Valparai and Pollachi. 5.Tiger valley - approximately 35 kms enroute Valparai. 6.chinnakallar falls-Its also called chirapunji of Tamil nadu because of the maximum rainfall received.It is situated around 15 km away from Valparai. 7.Sholayar Dam- Sholayar dam is situated around 20 km away from Valparai and it is a part of a Hydro Electric project of Tamilnadu State. It is considered as the second deepest dam in Asia. 8.Parambikulam Tiger Reserve - The Parambikulam Tiger Reserve is situated in Chittur talk of Palakkad District. It was established in 1973. The Parambikulam Tiger Reserve is in the Sungam range of hills between the Anaimalai Hills and Nelliyampathy Hills. 9.Nirar Dam- 10.Balaji Temple- It is approximately 10 kms from Valparai. The climate and the silence prevailing here makes it an ideal place to reinforce one’s conviction in the almighty.

The human-elephant conflict here is a delicate issue. The tea plantations are a hindrance to the movement of wildlife, particularly elephants who walk large distances to reach water bodies and feeding areas. Do not provoke wild animals. Keep safe from wild animal attack.
